This is where I’m supposed to write about myself, and to follow tradition do it in the third person, which is weird. So, instead I’ll just say welcome to my website. I have been painting and drawing for many years, with my primary subject always being dogs (which is my other passion besides art.) I work in acrylic, oil, and watercolour, as well as pen/ink and pencil/graphite, and have recently begun exploring silverpoint drawing.
You’ll notice that a lot of my artwork features Bearded Collies, and that’s because they are my breed. I’ve owned, shown, and bred Beardies for more than 25 years and currently live with several of them. I do paint/draw all breeds however, and mixed breeds as well (and other animals too!) My work has been given as trophies for many different breed specialties over the years, and I have done numerous private commissions for clients around the world.
I am proud to have worked on two different breed club Illustrated Standards, one of them being for the Havanese Fanciers of Canada, whose finished publication won a Dog Writers Association of America Award for Best Club Special Publication in 2014, with my artwork also winning a DWAA Award for Best Series of Illustrations/Paintings.
